As I choose “we condemned to be free” as a title in my works. The picture that I given show 4 types of hanger shows 4 different types of people in our community which is a man, women, child and elderly.

As I choose hanger is because is show that it was always attach to other thing. In context of our life are rules and we. So it shows that somehow we always had been control by the rules.

So the argue is that we actually have a choice. We may choose to follow the rules or against it. There is none can control our choice because we is the one who control it. We are who we are today because we choose to be what we are today. In this case, the hanger may hang itself forever or take chance to free itself.

In my opinion the rules are suppose to be the guidance to us. We aren’t supposed to be overruled by it. We already know that the worlds are filled with nasty things. The rules are the one will be guide us to evade it and show the safer path of the future. In my works I choose news strips of the bad news in our life. It shows that the world is not wonderful as we think.

So we may choose to free our self from the rules but will be risk towards of the nasty world, or we may choose to follow the rules that seem to be control by it but much more safe. Our life’s are been controlled by the rules. To remain control of the world, the rules need to controls our lives.

As for the colour and the texture, I choose a black metal as a material of the railing. Its show the strong the rules is, and can support others. As for the hanger I choose gray is because to represent the uncertainty of mankind mind. We are in situations that doubt to make a decision. As for the wall which is yellow, green, and purple in colour. At the first glance we can see how wonderful it is, with cheering and happy mood, but actually it’s far more than that. It’s actually got the second meaning which is, yellow is for deceit, where purple is for madness and cruelty, and green for greed, envy and toxic of the world.

As capture in my work, I assume that world is seemed to be beautiful. But actually is far worse than that, its just cruel in our life. By hanging on the rules we are choosing the safe path; but the question is, are following the rules is not a freedom? What is defining the real freedom?

So as I go on, I agree with Sartre that say “Like it or not, we are free to choose the facts or to reject them, free to follow nature or not, because we are free to define the facts and to define what is natural”. He also said “We are whatever we do, the totality of our actions. Thus, your real self exists as and through the choices you make for yourself, uncontrolled by the values of others. Put another way, we do not have a given nature; we become a certain kind of person. We are who we are today because of our own choices.”

So the conclusion is that we are today is what we choose to be. We are the one who control our fate, no rule or other existence may control us. There is not about the choice that be given, but the freedom to choose. So we are free and nothing can keep us from the freedom.
